We recently purchased an IH-2424 also, different from what CD purchased. We have been trying to track down info on this tractor and have come up with nothing but dead ends. Even people we've spoken to at International, Case and Komatsu have not been able to pin down the origins of this tractor. The model # is I-2424-G, serial # 4549 and we do know that it was built in 1967. I know virtually nothing about older tractors but have been told that this particular tractor was probably built by the government as a test for use overseas but this has not been confirmed. Our tractor is not the blue/green paint as was CD's but it is a sort of yellowish orange color. It does appear to be the original paint. It does not have a clutch, has a reverser; 1 brake pedal, a cab which opens from the back, no pto and no 3 pt hookup. We're trying to find out how many of these were made as it appears to be rather uncommon, what branch of the military would have ordered them and where (what plant) they were made. If you could give me any info or places to look to track the origins of this tractor down, I would greatly appreciate it.
