H Generators?

I was looking a generator today and I think it is likely that it was off a Farmall 300. If so would it fit an H? Also does anyone have the part numbers for the generators for either tractor (preferably the number on the tag on the generator)? Are there any good checks that can be done to determine if the generator is any good (short of a complete dissasembly)? Did the generators for these have the voltage regulators mounted on top of them? Thanks, SAm in NS
