Your not alone. I was using my Farmall H last week and the rod bolt heads broke on the number 4 cylinder and let the rod go, and the crank slapped it through the side of the block. I was very shocked because the tractor had never knocked or showed any indications of problems and I had just driven it to where it was parked at a high idle when the rod suddenly let go, now I'd have thought it would have let go when I had the tractor at full throttle just a few minutes before, but instead it went at a lower RPM with no load on the engine. The engine had plenty of oil.
