It is a 2.8 Ohm wire wound resistor used to regulate generator output. If you have a cutout relay on your BN there will be another one under the cover that's used for the same purpose when there are no lights on the tractor. It is longer and you will have to be creative to make it fit. I have one of the correct ones I will part with, email me offline.
