I've removed those bolts by putting a wrench on the head and giving it a few good whacks with a hammer. You may need to lock the transmission by setting the brakes so the shaft won't turn. Make sure you get the wrench set good on the bolt head, as the heads on these bolt are thin and would be easy to round off. I such situations, a 6 point wrench is a big help as opposed to the usual 12 point wrench.
