Hi Dan: The way I have always adjusted them is, after you have it warmed up properly, adjust the idle screw air adjustment, nearest the carb attatchment to manifold for proper running or idle. Then open the throttle to wide open, or high idle. Now you would run the high speed screw or lower adjustment screw angling up into carb from bottom, the one with a brass nut over it, in until it just starts to begin running lean-as cutting out or backfiring to some extent, then back it out from three fourths to one full turn. If you are still running into a lean condition such as popping or backfiring turn it out a quarter turn as needed. Then readjust the idle air adjustment again at low idle. Hope that helps. Always make sure that timing is correctly set. OLD DUTCH OLD DUTCH
