80 Bean Special

I recently bought a model 80 Bean Special combine. It has the pick-up head. My question is: It has a decal that says "McCormick Model 80 Combine Serial Number 4054" or something close to that. Does only that combine has that serial number or is it just like a way to keep track of which improvements it has?
