Looks like both parties to the sale are happy. Congratulations. The gear driven service meter (Veeder Root) is fairly common on the SM size gas-start diesels. The 9 series had them earlier. It can also be fitted to the Super M gas motor. Parts book says not to use it if motor has hydraulic pump. Dunno why unless the pump induces too much vibration under load. Of course, the diesel hydraulic pump would do the same but backwards. They are probably only found gas stationary motors like gensets and pumps. I would like to find one and put it on a F400G The diesel and gas hour meters cannot interchange due to different rotation direction.
