Dan - Here's what's happened:

Your Cub originally had a magneto. At some point in it's life the mag's coil failed. Rather than replacing the mag coil, someone wired up a battery ignition coil in it's place. The system now uses the mag's breaker points to time the ignition coil primary, while the mag distributor continues to distribute the spark voltage from the coil secondary same as before.

Consequently the low voltage wiring should be just like for a distributor ignition, except with the low voltage wire from the coil terminating at the breaker points inside the old magneto instead of inside a distributor.
