1. Back toward steering wheel is maximum speed foward is idle. 2. Could be out of notch but doubt if it is 180 out. 3. Foward from left R-2-4 back from left 1-3-5. 4. Depends on temperature if it will run with choke off or partial choke probaly OK. Slight drip not unusual but should not gush out. 5. Yes this is normal until it runs awhile and burns out soot etc. *********If distribitor has 90 degree turn it is not original is probaly Delco. NDS
