The serial number plate on both of my A's is located on the left vertical seat frame support facing inward. It may be painted over. My A's do not have a dipstick. They have oil cocks ( little valves) located on the left side of the oil pan. Use a cresent wrench or pliers to turn the handle. There are two of them, each one at a different level. I always check the top one. Turn the handle counter-clockwise to open. Be careful as they can twist off easy sometimes. Good Luck....Gerald
