Generator/wiring

I've had this '47(guess) M for about 6-7 years now, don't use it much, but I don't think the generator has ever worked. I entered the automotive repair field about the time alternators came along, so never had to deal with gen's much, and never was very good with them. Anyway, I'm wondering if this thing is wired wrong. Can anyone 'splain to me which wires go where, or tell me where I might find a diagram? What experience I do have with gen's is on Flathead Fords, early Jeeps, and GM. The Jeeps and GM(12V) are both neg grd, and the IH uses a Delco system, maybe totally different from the Ford. Not sure about the GM 6V. Sure don't want to burn something up. Thanx guys an hav a gud'un. BW NE CO

Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
