I appreciate the advice. I immediately tried the clutch test and that wasn't it. I then bought four new plugs to try to eliminate that possibilty and just like you, one of the fan blades had broken off. Now it is just a problem of getting a new fan and figuring out how to install (and hopefully I can do it without pulling the radiator.
