The 6788 has the electric shift T/A like the IH 30 series (3288, 3688) row crop tractors do, and an improved hydraulic pump over the 3788. Other wise these are basically the same tractors. The 7488 is a totally different tractor in that has the drive-train from a 50 series IH. The 18 speed STS transmission is nearly bullet proof. These are called the Super 70 series. They also have different steering cylinders and a changed steering geometry to allow the use of duals on the front axle. Duals ARE NOT to be used on the front of a 30 or 60 series 2+2. The Super 70's also have a higher rated HP front axle than the other 2+2's have. Overall, the Super 70's are the better machine. Expect to pay big $$$ for one IF you find one.
