Kinda grew up around a 1066. Now that I work in more modern, clean, quiet, airconditioned cabs, the old 66 seems like a clunker but the truth was that it did what we needed and grumbled very little. And it was fast on the road! I could outrun anyone in the neighborhood. Dad traded it for a 4630 and we sort of got hooked on power shift green machines after that, but I remember the 1066 fondly. Unfortunately, a year later the new owner was pulling a loaded stack mover on a highway, and turned left across traffic. A semi was passing him at the time and the collision split the tractor in two and killed the man. Rick L.
