There's no hard-and-fast rule for what position the TA should be in for a particular chore, except for going downhill. In that case, definitely kick the TA lever ahead. I can remember learning this the hard way when raking with the 560 for the first time, being used to the hydraulic TA on a 756 that held going downhill...

If pulling the TA lever back makes the tractor go at a comfortable speed for doing loader work, then by all means pull it. That's what it's there for.
