If the tractor works with the TA handle forward. Then you tractor is in direct drive. Works fine that way, as if it did not have a TA. I put a rebuilt TA in my 400 this winter. It cost $499 + $100 core charge. Then another $60 for seals. It is not that hard to fix just time consuming as you do need to split the tractor. Plug the link provided and click on the 400 page tab on the left side of my web site. I documented the procedure there.
