Thanks again Hugh. I guess I should have also mentioned that the TA lever is also missing so I couldn't do as suggested. I guess I'd hate to replace all the missing parts only to find out that there was another underlying problem like the pilot bearing you mentioned. I guess I could try to make/come up with the short adjustment lever on my own somehow and see if that helps. I noticed today that the shifting problem seems to exist after I back up without a load. Hmmmmmm. I got this particular tractor at an auction and it was represented as not having a working TA. A combine engine had replaced the original. Other than that, I don't know much of anything.
