Tom, I just went through the same thing with my 450. My tractor has the Behlyns power steering motor on it. I took mine completly apart to replace all the seals in it. Once I got it apart I found out that the shaft, that faces the aft of the tractor, had a groove worn in it where the seal rides. I took the shaft to the machine shop to see if they could build it up and turn it down, but they said that with a long shaft like that and the groove in the middle of the the shaft, that it would warp the shaft. I ended up getting a used, complete motor, from a salvage yard and installed instead. I am going to take my old shaft and build it up with some J.B weld and turn it down and see if it works, if not, oh well, I am out nothing for trying.

On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
