I had to resort to using muriatic acid in the tank of my M, it cleaned it up to the point that I did not need to use any type of liner. Also, install a short riser pipe into the inlet of the sediment bowl assembly, about 3/4 - 1 inch or so, and then put a fine mesh stainless screen on top of the riser pipe, this will allow only clean gas to enter the bowl, and the crud can settle to the bottom, where it won't bother anything. Rinse the tank several times with water after using the acid, and allow to dry for a day or two before using it.
