Hugh, with regard to the above post, there may be difference in flow characteristics, I don't know, but the hyd system on the SA/C does not have filters, only a screen, so other brands that meet hytran specs are probably ok. C/SC system is pretty simple. In fact when my Super A manual was printed, apparantly even touch control fluid hadn't been invented yet, as it says to use SAE 10W. Important thing is to keep it clean. "Modern" tractors such as the 560-up, perhaps Hytran is better, as that is when the more sophisticated hydraulic systems started. I don't have any modern tractors, so I usually pay Case-IH their price for parts, and stop at a farm store 1/4 mile closer for oil, etc. Of course with only 2 acres, I don't exactly work them either. I always enjoy oil posts, because you usually see the entire range of oils from Case-IH down to the well lubricated panther pee.

On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
