If he's talking about the diesel side, and IF it's like a WD9, he's NOT talking about the sediment bowl. What he's referring to I believe is mounted low on the left side of the engine, and it's called a "water trap".
What's called the "primary filter" is the rear canister filter mounted up higher on the left side of the engine.
Provided this is what he's referring to, one off an MD would probably be the same.
