Let me first tell you to use extreme caution, this stuff is dangerous, wait until the weather will allow you to be outside, and have a garden hose, with the water turned on at the spigot and ready.In my first attempt, I diluted the acid 50% with water, put one gallon of water in the tank and then added the acid. I also tried it full strength, and it worked better, with no damage to the tank. Pour in the solution, put the cap on, and gently rock, rotate, etc, the tank so that the acid will reach and be in contact with the entire inside surface of the tank, if there are some particularly bad areas, support the tank so the acid will stay in contact for a period of time. When you think it is clean, pour it out, it would be good to try and catch it in a container if possible, then fill the tank with water, dump it out and repeat rinsing 4 or 5 times, or whatever you think is necessary, I left mine sitting out in the sun all day to dry it out. Again, use extreme caution, do not get it on your skin, in your eyes, and do not breath the fumes. Rubber gloves and goggles would be advisable.
