I am considering buying an IH Model 384. I was told it is a 4 cylinder, 1978, and 38 hp. It has the model # on the side. The serial # is BOO1564. I was also told it sold for around $13,000.00 new in 1978. The ID tag says it was made in Great Britan, England. The other day when testing it out, I was moving round hay bales, pulling in low 4th gear the oil pressure was about 25#. Is this normal or should it be higher? I would like to know all I can about the tractor before I buy it, i.e.,year built, horsepower, #of cylinders, general operations of the tractor, dependability, good investment?, how many were made, parts availability, manuals, recommeded lubrications, etc. I would REALLY APPRECIATE any help you can give me. I am really excited about buying this tractor, but I want to make sure it is what I need first. Mostly I will be mowing grass, moving small round hay bales, and gardening. Thank you so very much!
