The owners manual warns of damaging the pump from the lift "not completing its cycle" , that is, the lift should stop where you have the touch control lever. If the implement binds or hits something before its gets to its stopping point "the pump unit will operate at maximum pressure and heat the oil excessivly, thereby causing possible internal damage to the pump" (straight from the owners manual)
