Super C Magneto

Was there a specific time at which Farmall quit making the C/Super C with magneto ignition? According to its tag this tractor I have bought was made in 1954. The electrics were cobbled by an expert. I felt so good, just getting the old wires stripped off the machine. But back to the question: There was that resistor, which supposedly has no reason for existing except the input to the points, right? This thing has a magneto, with the kill wire hanging off the terminal and a points type ignition switch! With the wires cut off at the terminals because it wouldn't work anyhow... It's as though this tractor had points ignition, then the owner kluutched an electrical mod, and installed a magneto to cover it. Hoo, Boy! Now the eledtrics are fixed. Next I need to get the Touchmatic control levers freed up, and find a loader for it. That is progress! Fred
