Ron; I just rewired my Super C using the diagram Bob Merrill recently posted. Whoever had installed the alternator had kluutched it really badly. There were bare wires, and the regulator was dead. You might be well served to look up that diagram, and refer to it as you check your wires inch by inch. Mine had several inches of bare wire, which may or may not have been what fried the alternator. There may easily be a problem in the wires away from the alternator which is showing up as a heavy chargel a short to ground, for example. Fred
