The shear pin I was refering to is in drive shaft of cutter. It is usually soft grade 2 3/8 inch bolt. This bolt should shear before any damage is done to tractor or cutter. Most people I know carry several spares in tool box and can have pin replaced and back cutting in matter of minutes if they hit stump, rock, ground or whatever.
