Freddie; All fire crater pistons need a smaller(retarded) timing advance as well as stiffer springs. So you need to replace the distributor shaft which is 30 degrees advance with a 22degree advance shaft and use governor spring package 372785R91(or next best spring package as many of the packages IH is not producing anymore). I use engine tune-up specification manual GSS-1356 for my work on rebuilding distributors.
