I agree. If I was to use my "H" year round, with 6 volt, I would get the heater which goes in the bottom rad hose to keep the block warm. I would also go to a "lighter" weight engine oil for extremely cold times. It gets to 35-40 below sometimes where I come from; a 6 or 12 volt system has trouble in this cold.
I also like the thoughts of keeping the system original
