Hi Allen, I don't know how correct the info is but I do know the person that gave the info to me is not a BS-er if you know what I mean. I can tell you he is getting more then 30 hp. because I get about that much hp. from my H. I have just regular IH Firecreator pistons (3-7/16") with a 300 head milled about one thousand just to clean up the head. I don't know if it ever was milled before I got the head though. I drove this H in question when I worked for this farmers dad back in 1961. At that time it was still a standard H with 9 speed transmission and the fast forth gear. They have had this H in many pulling contests and it always does good. Many first places over the years. It never stops scratching in low gear! It's one tough tractor, withstanding many hired hands over the years. When I worked for his dad we milked about 80 plus cows, now they milk over 130 cows.

Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
