Dan, A Farmall A should be able to handle a 5' pull type rotary (brush hog style) mower or a 6' sicle bar mower. The sicle bar mowers are available in either mounted or pull type. Either way you go, I would recommend that you get an overrunning clutch for your PTO shaft. This will keep a rotary mower from pushing the tractor when you depress the clutch to stop. The clutch costs about $50-$65 depending on where you buy it, and it's the cheapest insurance you'll ever buy. It has the additional advantage of letting you stop and start the tractor without having to wait for the mower to spin down so you can reengage the PTO. My two cents, Phil
