I had this happen to one of my C's last year. I had replaced the fluid in the hydraulic system and had filled it up to the bottom of the fill hole instead of 1/2" below the hole. After running it for about an hour it built up enough pressure from the expansion of the hotter fluid that it blew the explansion plug out. The plug is a lot like a freeze plug in the block. Less than $5.00 for the part. Just about as much to have it shipped to me. My local Case/IH dealer was able to get one for me. It is a 2" expansion plug, part # 172 592. There are a total of four of them located on various sides of the hydraulic block. I learned the hard way that the hydraulic system is a sealed, non-vented system. I person needs to loosen up the fill plug a little and then wiggle it around to release any pressure before removing it completely.
