One split but ya should remove the bottom cover under the speed the speed trans. so ya can wiggel the pto gear off the shaft. it is the long thin cover to the ft. Then ya got to pull the rockshaft cover off and both brakes and remove the bull pinions and the carrier and then the pinion . When going back together it is in your best interest to get a heavy rubber band and put it around the Ft. bearing that goes into the Speed trans as it is easy to knock a bearing out when going back together and never know it till it is TO LATE.
