As everyone knows an old mans memory is not too good sometimes but I drove a lot of distillate tractors when they were new and do not remember them smoking or running any differently if properly warmed up before switching. As I remember the drill we would run at least 30 minutes before switching. About 1950 distribitors in our area started selling so called "hot fuel" and you did not have to warm up on gasoline with this fuel.
