Hey I pulled my H last fall and the seasoned guys told me you want it short so the front stays down( good for safety and cant get DQed for it) but they said you want it short so as the weight moves forward the sled cant dig in the dirt more, this is because the drawbar is holding it up because the front cant come up and let your hitch point down. Make sense? Good luck, I am restoring the H I pulled last fall but have since bought 3 more and one is a 1939 with a 350 head. Gonna steal the head for one of the others and have a set of 9 bolt pressed steel to use too. Have fun and be safe. Matt
