Does the tractor have a engine mounted Hyd pump? IH had a problem with their camshafts. Originally the nut that held the gear on was right hand thread. worked great when the cam and Dist was all it drove. When a hyp pump was added there was enough stress put on the drive that caused the nut to start to come loose and would eventually cause the end of the cam to break. The symptoms whan this happens is you will have spark (The gear is still there and drives the distributor). What you don't have is valve action or compression. Pull the valve cover and spin the motor over. If the rockers don't move this is the problem. Here is the kicker. IH has a update to the camshaft (left hand nut) which is supposed to cure the problem. Last time I checked the cam alone was $500 plus all the other parts etc. HTH JT
