You need to remove the axle/bull gear retaining cap. You can either remove the transmission top cover plate like gene b said or you can remove the pto housing. There is an opening into the rear-end/transmission housing. It is a tight fit with your arm. There are two long-winded fine threaded bolts that hold the cap on. Taking it apart you will have to use a rachet to get them out. Of course mine turned too easy for the rachet and too hard for my fingers but I finally got them out. Used a long handle 9/16" box end wrench. A Farmall mechanic buddy said that they jack up the back wheel and then put a wrench on the bolt and slowly rotate the rear tire to spin the bolts out. You probably won't be able to do this to get it apart but is should work when you put it back together.
