polarizing just tells the generator and voltage regulator which end is + and which is -. your "A" on generator connects to the "G" on the regulator. "B" on the reg connects to the battery. --- you jumper the "B" to "G" terminals on the reg prior to starting the tractor so the reg sees which way the voltage is running, then start the tractor. already starting probably dont hurt regulator. if you cant get to the regulator, then touch "A" on the generator to the battery terminal. (not the grounded one)
