FK 99% of M will have a 4 digit casting # on right side of block followed by 2 letters most of time.SM will have 6 digit cast # followed by R1.
It will also have C264 on block.Most if not all
original M engines will not have C248 on block.
Im refering to original blocks on above.Late M used same large journal crank as SM.IH and others
sold 4 inch pistons and sleeves for M which made it 264 also made 4 1/8 for SM to make it 281 cubic
inch.To make a M block larger than 4 inch bore
you have to bore block or run without sleeves.
