Super C electrical prolbems

I recenty aquired a Super C with major
electrical trouble. It was converted to 12 volt,
I have to redo everything. I replaced the alternator and regulator and wires but am having trouble with the correct wiring. There is one
wire coming from the regulator which goes to the
ammeter, is this the only wire needed to the
regulator/alternator? (it has a early 70's GM alt. and reg.) Also I'm having trouble
finding a swith to use and am not quite sure how to wire it. Is there any way to test the coil
to make sure its in good condition? Can someone
please e-mail me the wiring diagram I hear is out there. Any help would be greatly appreicated.
