Hi Jerry, does your parking brake work ? If not then the tractor has probably been driven with the parking brake on and your hydraulic/transmission oil is full of groundup barking brake. This will clog the hydraulic system. There is a splitter valve by the hydraulic filter that controls the splitting of the hydraulic oil flow between power steering and brakes and 3pt hitch. This can become clogged and prevent oil flowing to ps, pb and 3pt. You say the transmission becomes very hot. My brother has a 684 and the transmission on it will get very hot in 90F weather if you are baling for a couple of hours. Make sure the hydraulic oil is flowing thru the oil cooler in front of the radiator. One pipe should be hotter than the other. Good luck JB
