boy you have me lost and I understand the system 1st don't ever stall a engine to turn off engine this is hard on engine parts cranks and pistons rods do break people look at a wire diagram this switch was a 1 termal switch link below http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=63967&item=3825699006&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW It grounds out the magneto to shut it down so look to see that switch is grounded and wire from switch to that little screw on the side of the magneto
If you have an "external coil" or (redneck magneto repair job) than you need to put a switch in the wire from the coil to its hot voltage sorce end of story !! its that simple this will need a two termal switch and to turn off that engine simply ground that mag termal to the frame somehow or if you just have a wire coming out of the mag and no termal then follow the wire to the coil and ground that termal to the frame if the switch fails
