Speeds seem good. I like a tad lower speeds.. Our N's are geared a bit high.. and 4th is useless in the pasture... Back to IH. I also mow with a 66 IH cub.. has a 44? IH belly mower. Considering that machine has 11-14 hp.. it cuts great. It is a bit tired.. but still makes a good 'big' lawnmower. I use mine to mow a 1 ac strip of ROW between my neighbors pasture and mine that the POA owns.. and I also mow the 1/4 ac ROW in front of my house with it. Makes for a better ride than a 'snapper' and has the benefits of the canopy i added.. plus a front blade that I leave set low to the ground in case anyone dumps off 'unseen' trash in the tall grass.
