Hi Red, I would recommend the epoxy primer too. It's more expensive, but this paint will last for a very long time. It is used now more in the automotive industry. Once it sets up it can be sanded very smooth to accept the finish coat. On bare metal once that epoxy primer adheres to the metal it is very hard to remove it. It surprises me that the farm implement companies haven't been using this since a lot of equipment is left unsheltered. A damp environment is harder on machines than their use when they are left unprotected. Good Luck, Hal
