help, live hydraulics on M

I have a M with a aftermarket live pump on. I have the return line from my 2 spool valve going into the filler cap with a "T" fitting. I when the tractor runs oil shoots out of the top. This is that way I was told to plumb the lines. Or should I return it into on of the 90 deg. fitting on the side? I need help so I can cut hay.
