I dont own a 10/20 but any dowel that is threaded can be removed by threading a piece of threaded rod into the dowel, maybe a 18 to 24" providing you have the space, and then sliding a steel weight over the threaded rod followed by a washer and a couple of nuts on the other end of the threaded rod. That weight sliding on the threaded rod can generate a lot of pulling power. Also, if you dont have that much space, you can use a bushing just larger than the dowel diameter, and use a bolt and some washers to extract the dowels also. Hope this helps.
