Whats a 384?

Local dealer has what he thinks is a 80 384. Says the numbers are unable to read correct. But it is a gas. My book shows only a diesel engine. Doesn't look to me like PS, since the steering goes to left front and right front with seperate rods. Other obvious discription is a large oil filter cover on lower right transmission that leads to the hyd pump. PTO is an assemble (clutch?)with control lever. Is it live? Looks like it would be a nice tractor for what I want except for no PS.
Any info is welcome since I am not a IHC person.
