you are on the right track. I use a Hydro 86 and a Farmall 656. Both have flat seats with wrap-around arm rests. I support a lot of my upper body weight on my elbow and get along quite well. I have driven a 1066 for a friend that the seat is pretty well worn out and still it is not hard on my back, I'm not sure what the reson is. I bought a Gleaner F combine and it nearly killed me driving it home 8 miles.
