One other aspect of this that I've pondered often is why the grossly unequal split around the actual switch dates to the longest day of the year in June. April to June vs June to October. As long as it has to change, I'd like to see the spring change happen on the last Sunday of February to be equal. A few parts of the country (including where I live) would need to "play golf", etc., in the snow, but hey, let's be fair!
